the thicket

The stench
it fills
lungs
deep
lift
up

down
carpeted
by
the sick
sweet
smell of
sweat

from the side
of the pool

waves
spreading
in the deep
end

Pressed up

the wall
his arm
leans over
my shoulder
charm
drowns
out his
words
The blade
runs thick
and deep

his lips
