Small red candles lit
raw remnants stuck within teeth
Say the words and fall

Prisoner
Feet
tucked
rolled under
slid
stars
shed their souls
and walk
the plank
sharks hover
in wait
before
the blood begins
hands tied
the body rips
through the
air
the seconds
pass
crash

underground

water springs
on every beating
petal
climb
with wings
to bear fruit
the carpet roars

passage
home
set into
darkness

hushes
the room
pulling
into a corner
all that was kind

Roof
It's all

a chore

the stranger

Licorice twisting
thick white band types out my name

Frost
Apple slices
soaked

rum

waits
afternoon porch
saucer

the white wicker
of a rocking
chair
I nestle

for a long
nap
cotton
underneath
your head
the roses
alongside
of the house
have failed
to bloom

Scissors snip white gold
blue light shines on her finger
wipe away the tears

Little feet

on the gray
I smile

the parade
is gone now
but the band
still plays

Reverie
