Petal One.

Bite
The sun
won't melt
we bathe
in molasses
to keep
the sweet
out
and all the
problems of
the day
surround
our tubs
like fire
ants.

Okay
That letter - nothing
Those pictures -nothing
nothing was there
they were empty
Stop! (check) got it!

Caution
I am nervous
what if
they don't
like me
be myself
but who
am I?

Reboot
Every week
close my eyes
allow the waves
to surface
feeling more
in control
everyday
lucky to be.

Bullet
Haven't the voices
scared him?
Lurking
in the middle
of the night
with an open
chest

Eat
Plastic eyes
Plastic nose
how it gleams
in the small
particles
of sun
that bake
and fry
loose in
the wind
stop the fork
from pressing onward
its journey made
by the passing
of thumbs
over a long
windy road

Groove
Power lines
the flightless
birds
that rest
pink
on the waters
edge
the fish swim
by their feet
and flop
towards shore
water in
their veins
from diamond
petals
in the
swamp.
